Lyndon Arthur was about to fight Braian Suarez for the vacant IBO light heavyweight on March 24. But, the fight was canceled at the very last minute, as Suarez was unable to pass the medical stage.
Braian Suarez was forced out of the fight for medical issues after the weigh-in. A fight with Suarez would let Arthur win the vacant title easily, with which he would get huge facilities to fight on the bigger stages with a bigger prize.
But now, the fight has been more complicated, as he will be fighting a younger fighter this time, Boris Crighton. The Scottish fighter has shown confidence to grab the chance and show the world what he is capable of.
“This is a win-win for me, I’m in with a guy who fights at a weight that I don’t normally fight at, and someone who has had a full camp to prepare for a world title, so this is no small feat I am looking at,”
Crighton believes that he will get a better edge in the fight and that he will give Artur a good challenge. He said,
“He is much bigger than me, but as the lighter man I will be faster, sharper and I have got that power regardless of whether I am at super middle or light heavy.”
Lyndon Arthur has only lost one fight in his 22 fights career, and that was in December 2021. He is on a winning streak of 2 fights, defeating Joel McIntyre in his most recent fight. Boris Crighton won against Matt McCallum with a TKO last December.
The fight will take place at the University of Bolton Stadium, the main card is expected to start at 2 pm ET. DAZN will be showing the live streaming of the full event to the fans.
