Thailand Masters is an international badminton tournament that was inaugurated in 2016. However, for the past two years, the event was taken out of the BWF calendar. With the upcoming 6th iteration, it is coming back as a Super 300 series event under the BWF World Tour.
Thailand Masters 2023 will feature singles and doubles tournaments for both men’s and women’s disciplines. The event will be held in Bangkok. This year’s iteration is featuring a $210,000 prize pool, which is a significant step up from the previous $150,000 pool.
Both the initial 1st and 2nd seeds of men’s singles, Kunlavut Vitidsam and Lu Guangzu withdrew from the event. Therefore, the seed list is currently Lee Cheuk Yiu from Hong Kong. The professional is currently ranked 14th in the BWF men’s singles ranking.
While in the women’s singles, the leading 3 seeds respectively Ratchanok Intanon, Carolina Marin, and Busanan Ongbamrungphan withdrew before the event. Chinese professional, Han Yue is currently leading the event. She is ranked 11th in BWF women’s singles rankings. In 2022, She won at the Hylo Open as her 6th Super 300 title.
