Akane Yamaguchi, the defending champion of women’s singles in All England Open 2022 is also the leading seed at the latest competition. She is the top-ranked badminton professional in BWF women’s singles ranking at present. Yamaguchi won the women’s singles at BWF World Champions of last year. She was also the winner at this year’s season opener at Malaysia Open.

BWF has increased the prize pool for the All England Open from $1 million to $1.25 million. As a result, all the standing will receive a significant bump in their purse share.
